The squirrel and its tree are finally done!

After spending a few months working on and off on this project, I can finally say that squirrel and its home are finished.  You can read more about the early stages of this project here. I intentionally made the painting relatively simple, so that I could embellish it with some beads and allow the squirrel to really pop.

As a reminder, the squirrel is a brooch that is meant to be worn as an accessory.  The painting provides it a home for when it is not being worn. That way it can serve more than one purpose – jewelry and home decor! The bottom right photo shows how it gets secured in the back.

I really like this design of putting removable beadwork onto a painting and am looking for new ideas.

Are there any brooch/painting combos you would like to see? Please let me know in the comments section below or email me at yzorina@gmail.com.

The painting is 12″ x 9″ and is available in my Etsy Shop.
