The secret is finally out!
I am so excited to share that one of my favorite works “Fragile Memory”, that is based on a microscopy image of the hippocampus of a Brainbow mouse, is featured on the cover of Biological Psychiatry journal! I just received the journal in the mail last week!
For the last three years, I have been participating in the “Art of the Brain” exhibition organized by my graduate school alma mater, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Though the physical exhibition had to be cancelled this year because of COVID-19, my submission was discovered by the Biological Psychiatry journal in early spring and they reached out to ask for permission to publish “Fragile Memory” on their cover!

I actually had to go and buy a DSLR camera specifically for this picture, just to be able to get a sufficiently large size and high resolution. After playing around with different photographing conditions for quite some time, I sent off the photo that I thought would be large enough to fill the whole page.
Alas, it turned out that the image was shrunken to make enough room for the journal title, but still, I am quite happy that it finally came out this month!

Here are some earlier work in progress shots of this ~4 month long project.

If you feel like “Fragile Memory” speaks to you, please consider purchasing it here. I even offer a monthly payment plan!
